    CONTRA COSTA TIMES: Campolindo Wins Rivalry Game Against Miramonte

    Kannah Cruikshank returned the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown, and Campolindo High intercepted four passes against previously unbeaten Miramonte en route to a 37-0 league win Friday.

    In a Diablo Foothill Athletic League game that Campolindo coach Kevin Macy called “our championship of the year” in the league, the defending DFAL champion Cougars (8-1, 5-0 DFAL) knocked off the rival Matadors (8-1, 4-1).

    Contra Costa Times: Campolindo Defense Shuts Down Dublin

    The Campolindo High football team rallied from a second-half deficit and its defense provided a top-notch effort in a 14-10 victory over visiting Dublin on Friday. “They never gave in. They continually stayed aggressive,” Campolindo coach Kevin Macy said about his defense. “Dublin was tough. They were physical.”

    Defensively, Campolindo (4-1, 1-0 Diablo Foothill Athletic League) kept Dublin (4-1, 0-1) out of the end zone all game. The Gaels’ only touchdown came via a 75-yard fumble return by Imani Moore in the second quarter.

    Contra Costa Times: East Bay Football Teams Look to Help Those Affected by Valley Fire

    MORAGA — Two local high school football teams were looking for ways Monday to help those affected by the fire that has devastated portions of Napa and Lake counties.

    Campolindo High’s football game on Friday is at Napa Memorial Stadium, an hour’s drive down the road from Middletown, where scores of homes were destroyed by the fast-moving fire.
