CONTRA COSTA TIMES: Campo Wins at Dougherty Valley

With this Diablo Foothill Athletic League victory at Dougherty Valley, Campolindo has now claimed 26 straight league wins.

The Cougars (5-1, 2-0) were paced by a three-touchdown effort by Jack Cassidy. The senior running back scored two on the ground on a 61-yard rushing effort and had a 23-yard reception from quarterback Jacob Westphal.

Campo’s Matthew Ringquist led all rushers with 103 yards on 12 carries. He had 85 yards in an explosive first half that saw Campo strike for 28 points.

Westphal was 12 of 18 with 173 yards passing and a pair of touchdowns. Max Flower caught four of those passes for 45 yards. Kannah Cruikshank caught two passes for 56 yards.

Dougherty Valley (5-1, 1-1), off to its best start since the 2008 season, was paced by Jason Riveroll-Hoselton’s 83 yards rushing on 15 carries.
