Weight Lifting & SAQ Training

 

All 2013 football players are invited to participate in an optional summer program:  Weight Lifting and Speed, Agility & Quickness (SAQ) Training beginning on Monday, June 17th for JV and Varsity.  All athletes will have the opportunity to work under the supervision and direction of Frank Candela.  Frank is well qualified with the following certifications:  National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) CPT, Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES).  He played professional baseball with the Milwaukee Brewers and college football with the USC Trojans.  Frank has worked with the Campolindo Football team and other Campolindo teams for several years and has made a big difference in the strength, speed and agility of our Campo athletes.  These qualities help our players win games and more importantly avoid injury.

Program Details

Weight Training - Begins June 17th for JV and V

Held every Monday, Wednesday, Friday from either 10:00 - 11:30 or 11:30 - 1:00 in the Campolindo Weight Room. Refer to the schedule attached below for workout times by week for the JV and V players. The weight training program is being funded by the Cougar Club (fundraising organization for the Campo Football team) through their recent efforts with the Mac Reynolds Golf Tournament and last season's Chalk Talks so there is no charge for participating in this activity.

SAQ Training - Begins June 18th

Held every Tuesday and Thursday from either 10:00 - 11:00 or 11:00 - 12:00 on the football field. Refer to the schedule attached below for workout times by week for the JV and V players. The SAQ Training will cost $150 for the entire summer.

Weight Training & SAQ Training Schedule

Please note that the times adjust by week, so please make sure you note the correct times for JV/V in your calendar. Depending on the number participating the schedule may change slightly once the program begins.  Any updates to the schedule will be communicated.  If you have any questions on the program, please contact the Varsity Team Moms.

Players are welcome to participate in either or both programs. To sign-up, please fill out both forms attached below (Weight Room Policy form not necessary if only doing SAQ). If participating in SAQ Training include a $150 check made payable to Cougar Club.  Either give the forms and check (if applicable) to Frank on your first day or mail forms and payment to:  Peter Zolintakis, 4200 Canyon Road, Lafayette, CA 94549.
